Let's reflect on the Critical Engineering Manifesto, Point Zero (0), by Oliver, Savičić and Vasiliev:
The Critical Engineer considers Engineering to be the most transformative language of our time, shaping the way we move, communicate and think. It is the work of the Critical Engineer to study and exploit this language, exposing its influence.
Notice how the authors of the Critical Engineering Manifesto focus on the role of engineering in the evolution of technology. As a transformative language, engineering allows the critical engineer to steer the implementation and, thus, technology itself to a direction of her choice. This gives the Critical Engineer a great responsibility of assessing the decision she makes and, proactively and critically think of the influence the technology products she creates may have on the end users of the product.
