About

Welcome to Tech Meditations, where you can find occasional, 1-2 min to read reflections on tech and all things digital. My name is Apostolos Kritikos and I am a critical software engineer with a passion for new technologies and all things open.

Meditations as in…

The term “meditation”, nowadays, usually refers to a practice in which an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. Meditation is practiced in numerous religious traditions. The English meditation is derived from Old French meditacioun, in turn from Latin meditatio from a verb meditari, meaning "to think, contemplate, devise, ponder".

Marcus Aurelius, the Roman Emperor, wrote 12 books called Meditations in Greek language as a source for his own guidance and self-improvement pondering on the experiences he had during his life, most of which he spend on military camps and war.

We will use the meditations technique to ponder upon knowledge related to software engineering, new technologies and the digital life. Each time a small piece of the literature will be our trigger and we will try to make sense out of it and connect it to our digital reality.

I want to thank you in advance for stopping by.

Enjoy!

Apostolos
